I recently got to know that UK Fetish Awards is taking place in 16.11.2022. I haven't been very aware of events abroad as I'm living in Finland which is quite well located far away from all the big fetish events.
Yeah, I know. You don't even know where Finland is...
Nevertheless, I'd love to see these big events around the world. It would be easier to live fetish fashion lifestyle more often and with other like-minded friends then. But maybe I'll have chances to visit these events in the future!
But let's get to the main topic. I was going through the information about the event and I noticed there are also few male candidates among all the female models. This really stunned me as I have always been criticizing fetish fashion world about unequality regarding modeling and showing almost only content about female models.
This is my thanks to UK Fetish Awards for accepting all genders among models! |
I'm not even gay, but I'd still love to see more male models and fashion and inspiration for men. Sometimes I have even felt that the whole fetish fashion scene welcomes just women to be in the spotlights.
This time there's a really great exception! I noticed these two male models among the candidates:
- Nomenloony
- Fetish model candidate
- Rockin Rubber
- Latex model candidate
These two gentlemen are the ones who I have seen earlier in Internet. I remember them from good and appropriate blog articles.
I also noticed few more male candidates. If I got it right there are 4+4 male models against 17+31 female models competing to get awarded in fetish model and latex model categories. This means there are 14% men in the candidates. We can still see the focus going to female models. But actually I'm really happy about the fact there are so many men among.

This brings me to conclusion that UK Fetish Awards has taken a brave step towards equality in the fetish fashion world. UK Fetish Awards isn't afraid to take male models among the candidates. To give more praise to the event I also noticed there is a category for fetish trans model.
By this I want to send my thanks and give my appreciation to UK Fetish Awards event. Thank you for giving a chance for equal modeling in fetish fashion world despite the gender of the models. This is what I call forerunning.
Lastly, I have noticed UK fetish scene has given room for male models in general even earlier. It's not long since I wrote about UK latex fashion manufacturer Libidex. The company had turned their marketing to direction which shows more male models and even fashion designs for men. I wasn't surprised to see Libidex among the supporters of UK Fetish Awards.
Libidex already started to show more male models among female models lately. I welcome this trend gladly as then we can see also fashion made for men! (Screenshot from Libidex's website). |
Nice work, UK! I look forward if I can visit your fetish events and latex fashion shops some day!
Regards,
Senshi from Finland
(yeah, you still don't know where it is... =D Just look it from Google Maps!)
