Experience: Fetishism in Instagram

I decided to join Instagram in the spring 2019 because I wished to make connections and have like-minded friends. I had had my doubts about joining for a long time as I had thought that Instagram would be a channel for just fishing for likes for the pictures and making money with famous accounts. I finally joined after I was couraged by my partner and when some people at the German Fetish Ball 2019 I met mentioned that they were only registered to the Instagram and were not to be found from other channels.

Here I write about my experience on the Instagram so far from the fetish view.

At first it felt really great to be finally in Instagram. I created my profile and shared some of my pictures from the years back. I shared my pictures as I am - Showing different styles of latex and other alternative clothes and wild ideas of "evolving" via dressing up. I wished to show my ideas to others to find like-minded friends and maybe even to achieve new real life friends around. I also wished support and understanding as the subject isn't a common thing in everyday life but still very important to me and for those others out there.

After my first year in Instagram I've learned the basic formulas of the action and the manners. My thoughts were a bit right as I haven't got many friends around yet. But I must admit that I was wrong to hesitate as Instagram is definitely quite good channel to get connections around. Of course Instagram is like any other social media channel. There are millions of accounts with people who you don't know. You can admire their pictures and give comments but nothing will ensure that you would find anything from Instagram to fulfill your needs in your life.

But it gives a chance. Sometimes there can be some discussion on the commentaries where you can share opinions and get known with others. Sometimes you may get to discuss with others via instant messages too. Commentaries at the pics are available to everyone if the account isn't private. Instant messaging is also available for everyone but it is a good idea that the receiver can decline the message or even block any harassers.

These things are valid for all the users. So if you wish to make an account about your fetish side it is ok and you can choose whether you like to make your account available for anyone or private for just the ones you want. The only note you should remember is to learn the rules about the content which is allowed or not in the pictures.

I was surprised about how many fetish profiles I could find in Instagram. There are of course the accounts of the most popular fetish models but also the accounts of ordinary fetish people showing their hobby and their life. The latter is definitely the best thing and these people are the ones you could bump into when visiting occasions. You can also find a lot of accounts of the latex producers making clothing and accessories and also other producers of alternative clothing or different fetish gear.

I like to search pictures in which some ordinary person shows his or her life and hobby related to fetishism or alternative lifestyle. I find this way more interesting than searching pictures which are made to gather as many likes as possible. It is very easy to move to make certain kind of content as some content gets more likes than other. So if you wish to get lots of likes and followers the deal is to produce pictures and video clips with good quality and preferably some seducing content. But I find the realism and authentic pictures way better.

This is one of the major negative sides on the Instagram if you ask me. In Instagram there are millions of pictures with people wishing to get a lot of attention and admiring. They wish for support and empowering while posing in a content they like. Wishing for support isn't itself a bad thing but the problem is that some of the people are more popular than others. Some model who gets supported by producers and photographers will definitely be very popular while someone wishing for attention could get nothing at all. Sometimes someone will get noticed and get more attention and maybe even deals with producers or photographers but it can be unequal who can get the deals. This phenomenon leads to lack of self-confidence and to depression of some people as they never can get enough attention and compare themselves to those popular ones. Actually there have been some writings and discussion about this subject not so long time ago. I remember that Instagram even had a plan to hide the amount of likes on the pictures to reduce bad feelings and depression.

The amount of likes. The thing that everybody craves but also the thing which may cause sadness and depression.

Nevertheless the phenomenon will be forever as we always can keep up comparing ourselves to the others. My advice is that you focus on your own thing and be happy about it. You should remember that you can never be the best at everything. Of course if you wish to get attention you should pursue your dreams and goals. But never look or talk down to anyone and never get disturbed because of comparing yourself to others.

One thing I totally hate is that the videos on the search feed which start automatically and are often playing in fast speed or with boomerang effect. These clips bring too much and too fast content to me and are irritating when I'd just wish to explore the pictures. I haven't found an option to turn off the videos which is a huge negative thing.

The third negative thing is that the search feed shows the content related to your hashtags or follows by their popularity and likings. I'd wish to explore more content of the basic users, not the Instagram superstars. So if you wish to look for basic users' content only you should never like anything with a celebrity on it or that celebrity or producer pops out into your search feed continuously. Even though you follow that profile or not.

Well, after all there still are a lot of basic users and content for the ones searching for them. The best way to search all content disregarding popularity is to search by the hashtags. I advice this method if you wish to find something new or something not so mainstream.

About the manners. Most of the users and companies communicate really nicely in Instagram. You can have replies to your comments on the pictures or sometimes you can even have a reply on the instant message too. But like on the all social media it isn't a written rule that you will always or ever get any replies from the others. I understand the thing easily that the celebrities just can't answer all the fans comments and someone just don't have interest to have conversations with random people. But be aware that there's also quite often some updates gathering comments and maybe even involving questions to followers but still it doesn't mean that you will get to have any replies. If you are an ordinary user, "the nobody", you are most likely kept as one. This means that you won't get noticed so easily. So even though you could have lots to say to one that has posted a picture or an update your opinions may just be some stains in the endless feed. Be prepared for that.

I've heard stories about wild policy of the Instagram moderators. I can't give any first-hand comments but from what I have heard there have been cases where some of the users may have posted some pictures with disturbing material while some more acceptable content has been deleted and even the users posting the content have been banned. Of course there are always a chance for unequality and mistakes but I have got a picture that some of the users could post more provocating or brave pictures than the others. Rumors tell that if there are some really popular people making content they could be privileged. This is of course unacceptable if it's true. But we never know for sure. Just be adviced not to get stuck with these things. Follow the rules and let others be. Focus on your own thing. And make copies of your contents on your PC in a case if you are afraid that your account could be deleted some day.

Despite the negative sides of Instagram it is a good service to share pictures and maybe even to get new connections. You can find also fetishists and kinky people there but of course with limited content as Instagram is a common service, not made for adult content. If you are looking for the channel for the adult contents, Instagram isn't your best choice. Something sexy you may find, but no porn. Which is actually quite nice as I prefer finding like-minded people among the fetishists to chat with and to find friends. I'm not after adult content or making such which makes Instagram very much more suitable for me than other channels.

So here's the story written in a nutshell.

If you are a fetishist using Instagram:

Positive:
- A good, popular and common channel to share pictures and give comments.
- Possibility to have a chat with users and have new friends or connections.
- Millions of pictures to go through with.
- Fetish fashion and alternative styles are allowed content.
- No porn.

Negative:
- The phenomenons of the popularity competition, likes-fishing, money-making content and faking the real life which can lead some users to feel lack of self-confidence.
- The transparency of the sponsored deals between producers, photographers and models aren't often mentioned, which doesn't give people a real picture of the celebrities contents.
- Instagram search feed favors popularity and searching for authentic or new content can be difficult.
- Some users may be more privileged than others but we never know for sure.

Instagram is a good channel to find content and people but be aware about the phenomenons and never create a bubble where you think that Instagram users live better life than you. They don't.

Review: Asuka plugsuit / Andromeda Latex

In the year 2016 I was lucky enough to get a slot from Andromeda Latex for commission of latex Asuka plugsuit. I was really anxious as I knew that this opportunity would be really rare but the costume wouldn't be cheap. I had always dreamed to get an Asuka plugsuit that would be perfect. Nothing like those poor ones around everywhere in cheap internet stores. I made a decision and asked for a commission. I got one. Asuka Langley Soryu meets Finland. Costume: Andromeda Latex. Model: Senshi. Photo: Tigrita. The system of Andromeda Latex is based on commissions and slots for them. People get a picture of manufacturer that is almost always booked full and rarely has any slots open. After all this is understandable because unique and high-quality costumes aren't anything like some mass-producted garments. Luckily sometimes one can notice an open slot that is announced on the website or social media channels. The commission and communicating are done with email. Thi

Being Asuka Langley Soryu in latex costume

I have noticed that most interesting thing in my photos and in my blog has been my Asuka Langley Soryu costume (by Andromeda Latex). Because I have felt that some people would like to see me doing only Asuka cosplay and posing in pictures with the costume I decided to write something about the costume. I also tell why I don't do only Asuka cosplay and why I do it quite rarely. I noticed that there hasn't been very much photos of the suit on my blog after my old review so I decided to put some photos here from the past years. I hope it covers some demand of seeing more about the suit as well as telling a bit more about experiences with it. I have cosplayed Asuka very rarely. It's not that I wouldn't like to do it but there are many reasons which I tell later on this article. General thoughts and some history of my Asuka costume Being Asuka feels fun. Well, I'm not a performer or actor so "being" sounds a bit too much. Let's just say that I love the look

Movies: Rubbers Ou Onna (Japan, 2010)

It was many years back when I found a mention about this movie on some website. There was a sho rt br iefing about the movie and it said the movie tells about a young woman who ha s a latex fetish . Of course I got interested about the movie and trie d to get i t in my hands as soon as possible. I had my prejudices regarding t he movie. Always when I had heard about a woman and latex clothing being in same movie it had been a fetish sex film or some short scene in a movie where some sexy bimbo wears PVC pants and makes i t excessive and a joke. I was very happy to find out that this movie wasn't a joke. It w as exactly what I had wished for a long time. Rubbers ou onna movie cover. Rubbers Ou Onna (also sometimes: "Rabâzu: Oou onna") is a japanese movie from year 2010. It's in japanese language. I didn't have an opportunity to watch the movie with subti tles or dub. Therefore my review is based on my own feelings and to things I saw in the movie. So
